These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of rootsnreturn.com and its related pages, forms, partner directory and client portal (together, the "Site"). The Site is operated by Roots & Return ("Roots & Return," "we," "us"), based in Franklin, Tennessee. By using the Site you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. What we are, and what we are not

Roots & Return is a coordination service. We help families organize and sequence the work of independently licensed professionals involved in selling property in India and moving the proceeds to the United States.

We are not a law firm, an accounting or CPA firm, a bank, a money transmitter or an investment adviser.
We do not prepare tax filings, give legal, tax or investment opinions, or hold, receive or transfer client funds.
Using the Site, booking a call, attending a seminar or creating a portal account does not create an attorney–client, CPA–client, fiduciary or advisory relationship with us or with any professional.

Any services we provide to you are governed by a separate written engagement agreement.

2. Information only, not advice

Content on the Site, including articles, figures, examples and seminar materials, is general information. It is not legal, tax, financial or investment advice for your situation. Laws, forms and thresholds in India and the U.S. change. Always confirm with a licensed professional before acting.

3. Partner directory

The partner directory lists independent professionals. A listing is not a recommendation, endorsement or guarantee of any professional's qualifications or work. Any engagement you enter into is directly between you and that professional, under their own terms and fees. You are responsible for checking credentials and suitability. Some directory details are shown only to signed-in users.

Professionals who apply to be listed confirm that the information they submit is accurate. They agree that we may verify it and may approve, decline, edit or remove listings at our discretion.

4. Accounts and the client portal

If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Please give accurate information and keep it up to date. We may suspend or close accounts that are misused.

5. Seminars and events

Seminars are free, general educational sessions. Registering does not obligate you to buy anything. We may change event details, including date, time, venue or format, or cancel an event. We will try to notify registered attendees.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

misuse the Site, attempt to gain unauthorized access, or interfere with its operation;
scrape or bulk-download directory or portal data, except through the interfaces we publish for automated agents and within any limits stated there;
submit false information or information about another person without their permission;
use the Site for any unlawful purpose.

7. Automated agents

We publish machine-readable resources for AI agents and other software acting on a user's behalf: /llms.txt, Markdown versions of pages, in-page agent tools and an MCP server. You may use these to help a person find information, book a conversation or register for an event. Agents must act on a real person's instructions and must submit accurate details. Per our robots.txt content signals, Site content may not be used to train AI models.

8. Intellectual property

The Site, including its text, design, logos and the Roots & Return name, belongs to Roots & Return or its licensors. You may view and share pages for personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify or republish substantial parts without our written permission.

9. Third-party services and links

The Site uses or links to third-party services, such as scheduling, database hosting and maps. We are not responsible for their content, availability or practices, and your use of them is subject to their own terms.

10. Disclaimers

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. This includes warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Roots & Return will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Site or reliance on its content. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Site is limited to one hundred U.S. dollars (US $100).

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute relating to the Site will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Williamson County, Tennessee, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows when they last changed. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
